A selection committee will choose films to be shown on the big screen at a public event on June 13.
We recommend reserving your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Stay tuned for an Eventbrite link to claim yours!

A Few Words of Thanks
Halton Green Screens is a program of the Halton Environmental Network (HEN). Halton Environmental Network (HEN) is an incorporated non-profit organization operating in the Region of Halton since 2004. HEN supports and enhances the capacity for local climate action and environmental sustainability across the region of Halton.
Our first ever Halton Green Screens Amateur Film Festival in June 2018 marked the culmination of a three-year Grow Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Through the support of the grant, we held 130 community film screening events and 80 school screening events. We have reached over 18,000 people and inspired them to take action for the environment. We launched our #HaltonWasteChallenge in 2015 and it has grown each year since then. It was even featured in a Canadian documentary, which we screened at two of our public events!
In addition to our grant from OTF we have had support from many different sponsors over the years, which has been instrumental in allowing our program to thrive as it has. In particular we owe a debt of gratitude to Film.Ca Cinemas, who has been a major sponsor of the program from the start. Jeff Knoll, CEO of Film.Ca Cinemas and Oakville Councillor, is one of the two founders of Halton Green Screens and continues to support the program through Film.Ca.
We have been so happy with what we have managed to do over the past 3.5 years, and we could not have done it without the support and enthusiasm of all of our volunteers and everyone who has participated in our events. If that is you, thank you!
We are also forever grateful to the HDSB and HCDSB for welcoming us into their schools to work with their students on various stewardship activities. The level of enthusiasm and commitment we have received from their students gives us hope for the future. There is much that needs to be done for the planet, but it is in good hands.
Our program is generously sponsored by Film.Ca Cinemas and the development of this program was supported by a grant by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Our 2018-19 Amateur Film Festival is sponsored by YourTV Halton.
